BETBY secures approval for its esports odds feed from Malta Gaming Authority

BETBY has secured approval from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) for its esports odds feed solution, marking a significant stride in the company’s strategic initiatives. This green light from the regulatory body enables BETBY to extend its esports odds and statistics services to all operators holding an MGA license. The comprehensive solution encompasses pre-match and live odds, content coverage, and a robust statistics hub. Operators can seamlessly integrate this esports data feed either as a standalone entity or as part of the BETBY Sportsbook.

Integral to the approved package are additional features such as risk management tools, back office utilities, and the live streaming of esports events via Twitch. This holistic solution not only caters to the diverse needs of operators but also aligns with the dynamic landscape of esports betting.

The MGA’s endorsement follows a thorough audit, confirming BETBY’s adherence to all requisite regulatory standards.

Notably, this approval holds particular significance as it represents one of the final regulatory acts under the tenure of current CEO Carl Brincat, with Charles Mizzi to assume the role on 26 January. Bringing over 25 years of expertise in finance, investment, and Maltese business, Mizzi’s appointment adds another layer of experience to BETBY’s leadership.

The MGA, entrusted with the responsibility of licensing in Malta, plays a pivotal role in overseeing compliance and investigating potential breaches. Recent examples include the suspension of Rush Gaming’s authorization in early January and the cancellation of Super7plus’s authorization last week.

Expressing her enthusiasm, BETBY COO Eva Berkova, (pictured above), acknowledged the approval as a “major milestone” for the company. Berkova highlighted Betby’s substantial investment in developing its esports odds feed product over the past years, emphasizing collaboration with leading esports feed suppliers and the positive industry feedback received.

BETBY’s Head of Legal, Ilze Ramolina, echoed the sentiment, expressing pride in the MGA’s approval. She emphasized the company’s commitment to compliance with applicable laws as a foundational principle. Ramolina sees the approval of the esports odds feed as a pivotal addition to BETBY’s existing verticals, emphasizing that this milestone only fuels the company’s ambitions to further expand its product offerings in regulated jurisdictions. As the esports betting landscape continues to evolve, BETBY is poised to play a significant role with its enhanced and MGA-approved esports odds feed solution.

This is a significant milestone for BeTBY in its esports endeavours. The green light from the MGA follows a meticulous technical audit, where the solution underwent a thorough examination to ensure compliance with all the regulatory requisites specified by the authority. This regulatory endorsement positions BETBY to offer its innovative esports odds feed product to operators holding an MGA licence, marking a notable advancement in the company’s strategic objectives.
