Ex-Reading Kynan Isaac handed career-ending ten-year ban for spot-fixing and illegal bets

In one of the longest bans issued by the FA, Isaac has been barred from all football activities until April 2034

The FA has decided to impose a ten-year ban on Kynan Isaac after finding, the former Reading defender who is now playing in the nonleague, guilty of spot-fixing and putting illegal bets on an FA Cup match that he participated in last season ending his playing career for good.

The FAAccording to The Daily Mail, the FA started looking into Isaac last year after receiving information about questionable betting trends during the Bards’ FA Cup loss to Shrewsbury Town in November. He was charged with spot-fixing in August after it was claimed that he purposefully got himself booked in the 84th minute of his team’s 5-1 loss as part of a plot to beat the bookies.

Isaac has been prohibited from participating in any football activity until April 2034. This is one of the FA’s longest bans. Along with his 10-year penalty, he will also serve a 12-month suspension for failing to present “telephone billing documents, and/or information of his internet subscription” in March.

The report stated that the former defender “has been found guilty of spot-fixing by deliberately earning a yellow card, failing to comply with the FA’s investigation and breaching FA rules by placing multiple bets, including several on his own team”.
