Donaco International sees rise in 1H profit 

Casino operator Donaco International Ltd reported a turnaround in its financial performance for the fiscal first half. 

According to the report released to the Australian Securities Exchange, the company recorded a net profit after tax (NPAT) of AUD5.70 million (€3.42 million). 

The report also stated that the company experienced a notable increase in group revenue, which surged by 96.3 percent year-on-year to reach AUD19.45 million (€11.68 million). 

Similarly, group earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) saw a remarkable growth of 228 percent year-on-year, reaching AUD10.79 million (€6.48 million). 

Donaco operates the DNA Star Vegas resort located at Poipet, bordering Thailand in Cambodia, and the Aristo International Hotel in Lao Cai, near China’s border in Vietnam. 

Impact of the rise in SE Asia tourists 

Porntat Amatavivadhana, Donaco’s non-executive chairman, highlighted the positive impact of the recent Cambodian government campaign aimed at attracting Thai visitors, which significantly benefited Star Vegas.  
Additionally, Aristo initiated a campaign to attract VIP visitors, resulting in increased revenue. 

Net gaming revenue up 

DNA Star Vegas reported net gaming revenue of AUD12.33 million (€7.4 million) in the six months to December 31, marking a 45.3 percent year-on-year increase.  
Star Vegas is also exploring initiatives such as quality tour groups and a membership loyalty program launched in January 2024 to enhance customer retention. 

Aristo International saw a substantial rise in net gaming revenue to AUD4.16 million (€2.5 million), up by 1,741 percent compared to the previous fiscal first half.  
This surge was supported by a staggering 7,380.9-percent increase in VIP table game turnover, amounting to AUD596.23 million (€357.98 million). 

Donaco sees advantage with ongoing infra projects 

Donaco emphasized the strategic advantage of the ongoing construction of Sapa Airport in the region, positioning Aristo for further economic growth upon its opening in 2025, with projected annual passengers reaching up to 1.5 million. 

As of December 31, the company maintained a robust cash position, holding AUD25.12 million (€15 million).
