In collaboration with Beating Hearts Foundation Malta, RE/MAX & Friends Foundation has now published an exclusive coffee table book that will raise funds for the purchase of much-needed equipment to detect congenital heart disease (CHD) during pregnancy.

Speaking of the coffee table book, RE/MAX & Friends Foundation board member Jeff Buttigieg (seen left) says:

Currently, the national healthcare system offers some assistance in allocating funds, but not enough to purchase this specialised apparatus. When Prof Victor Grech [BHM President] approached us to work together on this project, we welcomed it with open arms. Early detection of CHD is life-changing for these children and parents, so we recognised an opportunity to make a huge difference in society for Maltese families. That makes this project both vitally important and very close to our own hearts at RE/MAX.

Beating Hearts Malta (BHM) was founded in December 2011, with the main objective of providing support and encouragement for all adults and children with congenital heart disease, as well as their partners and families in Malta. Through sharing personal experience and knowledge, as well as promoting CHD awareness and educating social care professionals, employers, insurers and the general public, BHM helps to meet the needs of people with congenital heart disease.

Beating Hearts Malta is happy to collaborate with RE/MAX & Friends Foundation to raise funds for the cardiology equipment needed at Mater Dei Hospital,” shares BHM President Prof Victor Grech. “We look forward to collaborating again in future joint events together.

The RE/MAX & Friends Foundation Malta was founded in 2014 and has raised over €400,000 in funds for local charities including Malta Trust Foundation, Puttinu Cares, Malta Community Chest Fund, Dar Tal-Providenza, ALS Malta and Blossom Foundation.

OpenBookIn 2018, the Foundation organised the #HelpThemRead charity drive, raising a total of €54,000 for vision-impaired children through organising 30 events that utilised the extensive RE/MAX Network. Last year, the Foundation also helped Malta Trust Foundation raise €84,000 to assist non-verbal and autistic children with the purchase of equipment to support their learning.

The majority of the funds raised by the Foundation have been thanks to the generosity of RE/MAX Malta associates, managers and franchise owners, who donate a portion of their agency fees for every transaction, be it a rental or a purchase. ‘It is important to be a socially conscious and we are so proud of our associates, managers and franchise owners, as they are true ambassadors and the backbone of this Foundation. Without them, we would never be able to make such an impact on the community.’ concludes Mr Buttigieg.
