Smiles through miles: SiGMA Foundation’s trek to Mount Daraitan

The SiGMA Foundation, supported by BP wallet, Infipay Tech, Soft Gamings and Creativents is embarking on a trekking expedition to the Philippines, commencing with climbing Mount Daraitan, nestled in the Sierra Madre mountain range near Tanay, Rizal. This journey will be in support of the Foundation’s ongoing initiatives within the country, primarily focusing on enhancing the lives of children in local communities.

Every step takes participants and sponsors alike closer to making a positive change in the lives of those in need. The experience of giving back, combined with the physical and mental rewards of hiking offers an unmatched sense of accomplishment and fulfilment.

This trek of approximately 3 hours will be led by professional guides, ensuring a safe and pleasant experience for all. The Batang Gala mountaineering agency will guide trekkers through the 8 km route to reach Mount Daraitan’s summit which stands at 739 metres above sea level.

The summit will be reached at sunrise, providing a unique and memorable photo opportunity. With that being said, the journey begins the night before at 00:00 hrs to catch the sunrise at the summit. After summiting, the group will descend to the stunning Tinipak River for a boodle fight lunch and potentially a swim in the freshwater while exploring White Rock. Our expedition concludes with a tricycle ride back to Manila.

Registration for this unforgettable experience costs Php 3,500 per person which will include all the aforementioned along with a kit, with all proceeds going toward the SiGMA Foundation’s impactful endeavours in the Philippines. The SiGMA Foundation has previously supported projects in Dinalupihan, including renovating the St. Catherine of Alexandra parish church and the installation of a solar panel system in the Jose Depiro Formation Centre. In alignment with the upcoming SiGMA Asia Summit in June 2024, the Foundation will return to Dinalupihan to inaugurate a multi-sensory hall aimed at nurturing children’s musical talents.
