WHY TAKE THIS COURSE

Learn the purpose of the advanced classes and how they are intended to be used

The Game-to-System (G2S) protocol includes functionality that is not present in most other protocols. This advanced functionality starts with support for ID readers, such as magnetic-stripe card readers, making the EGM aware of players and employees. Other functionality builds off this base, including player tracking, employee tracking, responsible gaming, and tournaments.

In addition, the G2S protocol includes functionality that allows a host system to remotely configure an EGM. Rather than a technician visiting the EGM and navigating its menus to configure the EGM, the EGM can be accessed remotely to perform the same operations.

All advanced classes are optional.  Game design and operator preference will determine when these classes need to be included in an EGM.

This course introduces students to the advanced classes. Students will learn the purpose of the classes and how they are intended to be used. They will also learn which of the common building blocks – status, configuration, meters, and logs – are used by each class and what important features they contain.

  • Understand how ID readers are used to identify players and employees
  • Be familiar with the player tracking features within G2S
  • Understand how G2S can be used to implement responsible gaming programs
  • Understand the features that can be used to track employee activity at an EGM
  • Be familiar with the tournament functionality within G2S
  • Understand how printers can be used to produce promotional coupon and printed receipts
  • Understand how the configuration classes can be used to configure the communications and operational parameters of an EGM
