PAGCOR hosts SiGMA delegation

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) welcomed a delegation from SiGMA Group in Manila on Monday as the two sides met to discuss upcoming plans for SiGMA Asia.

SiGMA Group met with senior PAGCOR officials in preparation for SiGMA Asia, which will be held at the SMX Convention Centre from July 19th to 21st, 2023. It will be the group’s first conference in the Philippines.

The Philippines has rebounded from Covid and is expected to be one of the best-performing markets in Asia this year. It is also the only place in the region to regulate both land-based and online gaming.

The conference will cover all of the newest advancements in the gaming, emerging technology, and affiliation industries, bringing together three of SiGMA Group’s most prominent brands for one worldwide show boosting ties between East and West.

SiGMA’s prior attempt to hold a conference in the Philippine capital was postponed due to the Covid crisis. Now that Covid is out of the way, SiGMA Group is doubling down on its efforts in organising a conference that brings a large network in the West closer to Asian suppliers, operators, and affiliates.

The event will also be the first under the newly appointed Chairman of the Philippine Gaming and Amusement Corp (PAGCOR), Alejandro H. Tengco. Tengco, a businessman and former Malolos vice mayor, will succeed Andrea Domingo this year.

Previous PAGCOR Chair Andrea Domingo, in a keynote during one of SiGMA’s Roadshows stated; “The postponement of SiGMA to next year showed the whole world the level of commitment, intention, will and competence of SiGMA and its management. I’d like to express my full appreciation for this kind of determination and commitment to purpose.”
