BetMGM sponsors NASCAR event following online betting launch in North Carolina

Charlotte Motor Speedway has named its May 25 NASCAR Xfinity Series race the BetMGM 300, following a partnership with the online betting company established in January. This sponsorship deal, timed with the Memorial Day Weekend race just ahead of the Coca-Cola 600, signifies a swift integration into the motor racing event calendar.

BetMGM is not only sponsoring the race but also the fan-favourite Speed Street event, setting the stage for brand visibility and fan engagement through various on-site activities. Charlotte Motor Speedway’s executive, Greg Walter, highlighted the sponsorship’s alignment with their goal to enhance fan experience through active partnerships.

“When we first started talking about a partnership with BetMGM, one of the things that interested us was finding a partner that would activate at our events and add value to the fan experience. Bringing them on as both the race entitlement and Speed Street sponsor will help elevate their brand to the NASCAR audience and provide those on-site for our race weekend the chance to connect and engage in North Carolina’s next era of sports entertainment.”

North Carolina’s affinity for NASCAR, which includes housing numerous race teams and the NASCAR Hall of Fame, has made it an attractive market for sportsbook operators. BetMGM, having launched with seven other operators on March 11, leverages its NASCAR association to cement its presence in the North Carolina betting landscape.

BetMGM’s Chief Revenue Officer, Matt Prevost, expressed excitement about joining the iconic race weekend and introducing sports betting to a broader demographic, aiming to augment the event experience for fans.

“As we look to grow our brand in North Carolina, there is no better time and place than Charlotte Motor Speedway on Memorial Day Weekend. Our team looks forward to introducing sports betting to a new audience and helping add to the overall experience for fans throughout the entire Speed Street event and BetMGM 300 race.”
