CRO Scott Saunders exits The Star Entertainment Group

The Star Entertainment Group faces another leadership change as Group Chief Risk Officer Scott Saunders resigns. Saunders, who joined the company during a rough period marked by regulatory scrutiny and financial scandals, will step down on 31 January 2025.

Saunder’s departure comes as The Star continues to implement a sweeping overhaul of its operations in response to inquiries into its anti-money laundering and responsible gambling practises. Saunders has been instrumental in managing the company through these challenges.

Acting Group CEO Neale O’Connell thanked Saunders for his contributions during this “difficult and transformative period.” The search for a new Chief Risk Officer is already underway as the company seeks to strengthen its risk management capabilities and restore public trust.
