Further growth for Ontario iGaming market

The iGaming market in Ontario is being hailed as the jurisdiction with the most rapid growth in Canada. Over 65 casino operators are currently listed as licensed by iGaming Ontario.

Games development studio BF Games is the latest newcomer. It has been granted a licence to operate in the Canadian province of Ontario, expanding its ambitious growth strategy in the North American market.  This will enable BF Games to offer its slots portfolio to licensed operators in the jurisdiction.

The operator’s licence was granted by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

London-based BF Games has been expanding its portfolio across Europe. The move to Ontario was facilitated in partnership with iGaming consultancy SCCC Management.

“North America will be a focus for us going forward and with the huge potential in the region, we have high hopes it will soon play a crucial part in our business strategy, ” said Wiktor Grabarczyk, Head of Legal at BF Games.  He added that the company looks forward to working with locally licensed operators in Ontario and to introduce content to players in the Provence.  The expansion to North American “is a great milestone for the company and it is a crucial part of our business”.

Ontario iGaming market

Ontario’s iGaming market was launched in April 2022, just after the NFL championship.

Since it was established, the sports betting industry in Ontario has seen over CAD 21.6 billion (US $16 billion) in total wagers and a gaming revenue of CAD 886 million (US $658.9 million).

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulates and develops policies to establish a framework of regulatory controls that are sensitive and viable for the alcohol, gaming, horse racing and cannabis industries. It educates stakeholders and develops partnerships to regulate the jurisdiction of Ontario.
