M&A: Xtremepush expands gamification platform with acquisition of Thunderbite

In a significant move to redefine its player engagement and invest in customer loyalty across various industries, Xtremepush has announced its acquisition of Thunderbite, a renowned player in gamification and customer loyalty services. The strategic partnership, which was finalized last week, signifies a promising future for the igaming industry and beyond.

The Acquisition Deal

Xtremepush, widely acknowledged as a leader in live engagement and personalization for igaming operators, has secured Thunderbite and all its associated technology and intellectual properties through this acquisition. The move aims to integrate Thunderbite’s expertise in gamification with Xtremepush’s real-time data capabilities, AI, and omnichannel activation. The end goal is to deliver high-performing, personalized acquisition and retention strategies across various sectors, including sports betting, igaming, ecommerce, publishing and financial services.

Gamification: Revolutionizing Engagement

Gamification will integrate game elements, such as rewards, competition and challenges, to non-game contexts, with the aim of increasing engagement, motivation and customer loyalty. In the context of the Xtremepush and Thunderbite partnership, gamification will play a pivotal role in enhancing user experiences and driving customer loyalty.

Vision for the future

Xtremepush CEO and Co-Founder, Tommy Kearns, (pictured above), expressed excitement about the acquisition, saying, “We are excited about the future and the endless possibilities this acquisition brings to the igaming industry.” Kearns emphasized the potential of combining Thunderbite’s gamification expertise with Xtremepush’s real-time data and AI capabilities to create innovative solutions for their clients.

History of collaboration

Prior to this merger, Xtremepush and Thunderbite had already collaborated on personalization projects since 2022. These collaborations resulted in groundbreaking solutions for igaming clients, including Kwiff, NetBet, OddsChecker, and Check’d Media.

Enlarged expert team

All twenty-three employees of Thunderbite, including the three founding shareholders Mark van der Putten, Lisa Langhorn, and John Smith, are joining the Xtremepush team. This infusion of talent and innovation will fortify Xtremepush’s position in the market. John Smith, Thunderbite’s CEO and Sales Director, highlighted the significance of this development, stating, “We are stronger than ever before, and this exciting development sets us apart from our competitors. This is a significant milestone, not only for Xtremepush and for Thunderbite but for the iGaming sector and other industry sectors invested in personalized digital marketing.”

With this acquisition, Xtremepush will enhance player engagement and customer loyalty strategies across multiple sectors, marking a significant advancement in the sector.
