The final match saw former EPT champion Nicolas Dumont face off against Hugues Girard, the runner-up from the last Winamax Poker Tour. Dumont quickly won the first round, but Girard fought back to level the score 1-1. After a dinner break, Dumont clinched the decisive round to claim the title. Dumont earned 24,000€ for his victory, while Girard received 12,096€.

“I just hope to win next time”

Despite his defeat, Hugues Girard, who had previously knocked out Cécile Ticherfatine in the semi-finals, remained upbeat. Reflecting on his performance, Girard stated, “It’s been a great week overall, and it’s not over yet. I may have lost, but I’m happy. I just hope to win next time!”

Aiming for World Champion

Nicolas Dumont, who succeeds Giuseppe Zarbo as the champion, was rewarded with a first-place prize of 24,000€. In his post-victory analysis, Dumont expressed his ambitions: “It’s a win, a title, another trophy… I play for my children too, and seeing another trophy makes them happy. When I play, it’s always to win. Now, I have a European champion title, a French champion title… My next goal is to become the world champion. It will be tough, but anything is possible.”
