Pokerload emerged as worthy victors of the 2023 edition of the SiGMA Balkans & CIS start-up pitch competition.
Limassol’s City of Dreams Mediterranean hosted the latest instalment of the competition on day 1 of the highly anticipated summit in Limassol Cyprus.
Outshining 6 other innovative competitors, -Pokerload were deemed the most impressively unique and particularly viable by an esteemed panel of industry-leading professionals.
The Pitch
SiGMA Group has long done its utmost to support a multitude of start-ups, in an effort to ensure that their innovations and cutting-edge concepts are not only assisted in their vision but also superbly well-connected to their industry through quality networking opportunities and media exposure.
This makes a summit such as the event being held in Cyprus a perfect place to hold the pitch competition.
Out of 100 start-ups present at the City of Dream’s impressively expansive 2-floor exhibition, the top creations and concepts were meticulously selected to compete at the competition.
Pokerload
A mobile app aiming to automate and holistically enhance land-based poker. Removing tedious processes such as waiting in long queues before seating, cumbersome searches for poker games and venues, cash withdrawals and even manual records of performance to name just a few.
The Pokerload app offers a ground-breaking solution by uniquely providing users with features that bring live feed updates of table statuses of local poker games while also filtering requests for games only of the user’s preference.
By creating a sort of social media style template for land-based gaming operations, Pokerload brings users not only an effective way to enjoy an experience hassle-free but also has the implications to breathe new life into a rapidly diversifying industry.
Speaking on the victory Andreas Constantinou, the Co-founder and current CEO, described it as a particular honour, especially given the high standard of competition and the true strength of the innovation at the pitch competition, stating:
“All the start-ups were equally credible competitors who we would love to see win such an award in the future.”
This was also an aspect heavily praised by the judging panel that commented on the competition’s continual improvement and the attraction of stronger innovations and endeavours.
Insights from the victors
The pitch winner also went into some depth when questioned regarding the US gaming scene, a market Andreas knows well as Pokerload inaugurated its platform in Ohio, USA.
He explained how even though the industry is ever-changing both privately and under regulation, Pokerload is well positioned to make use of the already strong land-based industry in the US or even the other, rapidly re-regulating aspects throughout the sector.
