The Potawatomi Casino Hotel in Milwaukee has announced the grand opening dates for its retail sportsbook and poker room, marking the completion of the casino’s $190 million renovation project.
The CEO of Potawatomi Casino Hotel, Dominic Ortiz, revealed that the official unveiling of the 14-table Poker Room and the Las Vegas-style Sportsbook will take place on Friday, 3 May 2024. Both facilities are located on the first level of the casino. The construction of these venues, which began in September 2023, signifies the culmination of the casino’s extensive renovation project. Ortiz expressed his excitement about bringing an enhanced sports betting atmosphere to their guests and assured them that the wait for these two extraordinary projects would be well worth it.
The Poker Room will feature 14 tables offering various games, including 1-3 No Limit, 2-5 No Limit, and Pot Limit Omaha (PLO). It will also offer promotions such as Hourly High Hand Jackpots and Bad Beat Jackpot. The Poker Room will utilize the food and beverage services from its neighbouring Sportsbook. The Potawatomi Sportsbook, spanning 6,500 square feet, will boast a two-floor layout, a 2,000 square foot LED screen, a broadcast booth equipped with a professional quality 3-camera system, and over 20 TVs. It will have a seating capacity for over 200 patrons and will provide kiosks and ticket writers accessible to all casino guests.
New high-end sports betting venue
Sean Cullen, the Sportsbook Director, stated that their new retail sports betting venue would be a top travel destination in the Midwest. He added that there is no retail betting space outside of Las Vegas that can compete with the high-end venue they are unveiling. The Potawatomi Sportsbook will also offer a variety of food and beverage options, including forty-eight beers on tap. This development follows the implementation of the IGT Advantage casino management system at Potawatomi Casino Hotel’s Carter location in April 2023. The casino’s expansion into legal sports betting in 2022 aligned with the state of Wisconsin’s efforts to provide regulated gambling options. This merger represents a strategic move that could reshape the future of the gaming industry.
