Sisal, a company under the Flutter Entertainment umbrella, has announced the appointment of Sian Carson as its new Chief People Officer. Carson’s wealth of experience in human resources and her extensive tenure within the Flutter Group made her the ideal choice for this pivotal role. Her responsibilities will encompass supporting Sisal’s expansion not only within Italy but also in diverse international markets, including Morocco, Turkey, Albania, and Tunisia.

This key development follows Flutter Entertainment’s acquisition of Sisal in a significant €1.91 billion deal finalized in December 2021. Sisal’s CEO, Francesco Durante, expressed his enthusiasm about this latest addition to the leadership team, emphasizing the pivotal role Carson is poised to play. Durante stated, “I am convinced that with her support, we will further strengthen our ability to drive Sisal’s growth in Italy and abroad, investing in the centrality of people and skills that are fundamental for an increasingly sustainable, digital, and international company.”
Sian Carson’s professional journey showcases a rich background in human resources. She commenced her career in Italy, where she held multiple HR roles at UniCredit Group within the financial sector. Carson later transitioned to the Flutter-owned Sportsbet in her native Australia in 2013. Her talents and leadership abilities eventually led her to London in 2019, where she took on the role of Talent Director at Flutter’s predecessor, Paddy Power Betfair.
Expressing her excitement about her new role, Carson shared, “Sisal’s multinational profile will give us the opportunity to work on issues of diversity and inclusion in all its aspects, with the goal of becoming a leading company in these issues.” She explained that she is passionate for the challenge and opportunity that Sisal presents.

Sisal, at present, has a global workforce of approximately 3,000 employees spanning across five different countries.
