The panel featured prominent speakers Paulo Saad, Carlos Cardama, Diego Fernández, Denis Gavazzi, and Guilherme Friolhi, each sharing valuable insights into this rapidly evolving landscape.

The prevailing theme of the discussion revolved around the critical necessity for comprehensive regulation to protect the industry and the public’s interests. In emphasizing the paramount significance of unity within the sector, Paulo Saad stated, “A lack of unity can quickly end our businesses in their crib. The aspirations of this wonderful industry serve us as a goal, something much greater to aim for.”

Carlos Cardama, Co-Founder of BiS, emphasized the power of media in shaping public perception: “Advertising, an economic force, is defined by the power to communicate. It encourages better work, better communication through content.” Cardama highlighted the potential for responsible advertising to foster a society actively engaged in gambling, while also emphasizing the need for efficient regulation to prevent the growth of the gray market.

Denis Gavazzi, representing Grupo Bandeirantes, shed light on the growing influence of sports betting in the media. He further emphasized the positive impact of regulation.

Nowadays, it’s uncommon for any organization to proceed without active involvement in this industry. The significance of effective regulation cannot be understated, especially considering the widespread presence of betting websites, which has already become a significant reality in our country.

Guilherme Friolh focused on the role of education and content in fostering a responsible gambling culture. He remarked, “We have an obligation to constantly emphasize the issue of culture to all betting houses and football enthusiasts.” Friolhi stressed the need to move away from immediate results and instead invest in long-term educational initiatives that promote responsible gambling practices.

Throughout the panel discussion, it became evident that the lack of regulation posed significant threats to the industry, including the proliferation of unscrupulous actors and the absence of consumer protection. The speakers stressed the urgent need for comprehensive regulation that safeguards both industry stakeholders and the public.

In the words of Saad: “While it is essential to embrace our differences and foster inclusivity, we must also recognize that this is a vital industry that demands sincere attention within our community.”
