SiGMA Foundation goes green along with Internet Vikings!

The SiGMA Foundation, together with Internet Vikings, organised a trek and bouldering session last weekend, with a shore clean-up thrown in the mix for good measure

The Foundation‘s Chief Philanthropy officer, Keith Marshall had these words to say: ‘We felt the need to be supportive of The Wave of Change campaign and to collect trash, particularly plastic and to dispose of it properly.’

Neil agius‘Its pioneer, super athlete Neil Agius has been advocating this for a while now, pleading for the public to pick up six pieces of thrash every time they are down by the sea. Following his recent gargantuan exploits, the least we could do is to answer his battle cry.’

‘We tried juxtaposing fun and duties so we chose a route that offered all levels of terrain ….beaches, rocky shoreline, boulders, brushwood, clay slopes and even plain old roads. It came together really well, strongly attended and by the looks of things, the clan really enjoyed themselves.’

sigma foundation-2‘We chose a cove along the seashore which would be uncomfortably inaccessible for the clean-up, which made it all the more satisfying. Next time around, we will be smarter and better organised, with Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boats (RHIBS) joining the team to shuttle our collection to a collection depot.

‘That will allow us to gather so much more debris and wash-up. We also take this opportunity to thank Internet Vikings for being so supportive and implore other companies to rope similar initiatives into their CSR protocols.

Well done on breaking the world record Neil, you made everyone proud, bud!’

Anna Dobrovolskaya_BG‘Internet Vikings is a powerful proponent of responsible business ethics and a role-model when it comes to collaboration between companies in order to protect the planet. Anna Dobrovolskaya, CMO at Internet Vikings, commented: “As a business, we are passionate about environmental conservation. Supporting these kinds of initiatives is a key principle for us. We are certain that such inter-business cooperation will lead to a great improvement in well-being for all. This makes SiGMA much more than just a media partner to us.”
