This bill is named the Adelson Bill. It was given this name after the late Las Vegas Sands CEO, Sheldon Adelson, who lobbied for casino resorts in the nation of more than 210 million citizens.

Back in 2019, Adelson has reportedly proposed two casinos in Brazil, one in Rio de Janeiro and the other in the financial district of São Paulo.

This bill, which was first introduced in September will allow each of the country’s 26 states to have one casino with a 35-year concession. The gaming floor would occupy 10% of the buildings.

As part of this legislation, casino operators would be chosen dependent on a scoring framework with 70% of focuses granted for the nature and quality of the project and 30% dependent on the worth the operator would repay to the government.

Operators should apply player security and illegalities against tax avoidance measures including checking the identity of clients who store or pull out more than $1850 in a single day.

Paulo Azi, submitted a bill in 2019 which called for the authorisation of various casinos across Brazil. To be approved, the proposed bill needs to receive a majority of the 513 MEPs in addition to a majority of the 81 Senators and therfore later proceeding to a presidential sanction.
