Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana celebrates milestone with grand topping-off ceremony
The Cordish Companies recently held a topping-off ceremony for the highly anticipated Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, marking a new milestone in the construction of the first land-based casino in the Shreveport-Bossier market.
Located in Bossier City, directly across from Shreveport, this $270 million (approximately €248.7 million) project is poised to become a major entertainment and economic hub upon its completion in Q1 2025.

“Today marks a special day for The Cordish Companies,” said Rob Norton (pictured above), president of Cordish Gaming Group. “Live! Casino & Hotel will be a transformative development that will bring a first-class gaming and entertainment experience to millions of visitors, create significant new jobs, and generate millions of dollars in economic benefits for the community for generations to come.”
The casino will boast over 47,000 square feet of gaming space, featuring 1,000 slots and electronic table games, 40 live table games, and a sportsbook. Beyond the gaming floor, the luxurious 550-room hotel will provide guests with a resort-style experience, complete with a pool, fitness centre, and on-site dining options.
The project is expected to generate approximately 1,500 jobs, including construction positions and permanent roles within the casino and hotel. Additionally, Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana is projected to bring higher tax revenue for both Bossier City and the State of Louisiana.
“It’s going to be a game-changer for Bossier City,” Norton remarked. “We are celebrating the ceremonial last piece of steel to be placed into the construction project. This ceremony is an important launching off point that says we’re really not that far away from opening.”
In addition, Bossier City Mayor Tommy Chandler highlighted the positive impact the casino will have on tourism and economic growth throughout the state.

Just recently, Cordish Gaming Group appointed Bryan M. Prettyman as Senior Vice President of Property Operations for the upcoming Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana. A seasoned leader with over 36 years in the gaming and resort industry, Prettyman brings a wealth of experience to this new role.
At Live! Louisiana, Prettyman will leverage his experience to develop and implement operational strategies for hotel, food & beverage, security, and facility management.
