New Leadership: Hoiana Resort & Golf appoints Melvyn Boey as CFO

Hoiana Resort & Golf, a prestigious resort in Vietnam, has appointed Melvyn Boey as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The new executive brings over 25 years of experience in equity research, corporate finance, and the hospitality sector, providing extensive expertise to his new role.

After the recent departure of the former Group CFO, Laurence Hawke, Melvyn Boey will assume responsibility for Hoiana’s financial operations, lead strategic financial planning efforts, and concentrate on improving operational efficiency to support the resort’s growth goals.

Steve Wolstenholme, President and CEO of Hoiana Resort & Golf, expressed his confidence in Boey’s expertise, stating, “His financial management and strategic planning skills will be instrumental as we continue to elevate our operations and drive growth in the hospitality industry.”

Financial expertise and qualifications

Boey was the Senior Vice President of Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore before coming to Hoiana. During his time there, he steered the company through the difficulties of the Covid-19 pandemic. Boey’s career includes directorial and analytical positions at renowned firms. He worked as an analyst at Schroders, an executive director at JP Morgan, and held roles as a managing director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Nomura Securities.
