Nevada’s winning streak: $1.2 billion in revenue in August

Nevada has just reported its 18th consecutive month of more than $1 billion in gambling revenue. The Nevada Gaming Control Board has recently provided the latest data, showing that the state earned $1.2 billion from its casinos in August, a sum that was 26.7% higher than it was in the corresponding month in pre-pandemic 2019.

About 55% of the whole state revenue $659.7 million was generated by the Las Vegas Strip. In comparison to the $627 million recorded in August 2021, this represented an increase of 5.2%.

According to Forbes, Senior Economic Analyst of the Nevada Gaming Control Board Michael Lawton stated that “The Strip is carrying the load.” Revenue in Downtown and North Las Vegas were $64.5 and $23.1 million, respectively, and increased year over year.

Revenue rose 2.3% year over year in Washoe County, which includes the casinos in Reno, Sparks, and North Lake Tahoe. Revenues in South Lake Tahoe increased by 26.8%.

Total income from the table, counter, and card games was $361 million, a 24.1% decrease from the previous month. In contrast, this represented a 6.0% annual increase. The card game Twenty One contributed significantly to this, accounting for $100 million of the total, a drop of 18.8% from the previous month.

$96 million of the total revenue came from baccarat, which increased 3.8% annually. Craps, which brought in $39 million, came in third.

It should be noted that the winnings on the Las Vegas Strip are currently 26.7% greater than they were in August 2019, demonstrating that the state of Nevada’s gambling industry is really performing better now than it was prior to the outbreak.
