PUBG Global Series 2 to grace Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with $2M prize pool
KRAFTON, the creative force behind popular games, is gearing up for the much-awaited PUBG Global Series 2, and the chosen stage is none other than Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. From August 10 to August 20, 2023, this thrilling tournament promises to captivate the gaming world.
Introducing the competing teams
In the spotlight for the PUBG Global Series 2 are 24 exceptionally skilled international teams. This ensemble consists of eight elite Global Partner Teams, accompanied by a roster of 16 teams that emerged victorious from intense regional qualifying matches.
The pursuit is twofold: not only will these squads compete for a substantial share of the substantial $2 million prize pool, but they will also chase coveted PGS Points. These points are game-changers as they secure slots for the imminent PUBG Global Championship (PGC) 2023, an event that holds the gaming community in rapt anticipation.
After the gripping APAC Qualifiers that paved the way for the PUBG Global Series 2, a total of six teams from the Asia-Pacific realm are primed to take the main stage.
Within this elite contingent, four Thai teams stand tall: Daytrade Gaming, THEERATHON FIVE, Forest Gaming, and eArena. Adding further prowess are two Vietnamese teams, CERBERUS Esports and The Expendables, ready to forge their place among the competitors.

An inside look at the structure of the PUBG Global Series 2
The riveting Group Stage will be unfolding from the 10th to 13th of August. Within this arena, the 24 contender teams will be expertly divided into three groups, each comprising eight formidable units.
Daily battles will see six intense matches. Commencing with Groups A and B on day one, the sequence proceeds with Groups B and C on the following day, culminating with the clash of Groups C and A on day three.
Emerging from the Group Stage, the top 16 teams advance to the Winners Bracket, while the remaining eight contenders find their place in the Losers Bracket.
From August 13 to 14, the Winners Bracket intensifies with an action-packed schedule of six matches daily. The exceptional performance of the leading eight teams secures their direct passage to the coveted Grand Finals.
Subsequently, on August 15 and 16, the Winners Bracket’s remaining eight squads lock horns with the bottom eight teams from the Losers Bracket.
Only the cream of the crop, the top eight teams from the Losers Bracket, will earn their spot in the Grand Finals. For the others, their journey concludes at this juncture.
The pinnacle of competition arrives with the Grand Finals spanning three eventful days, from August 18 to 20. A total of 18 high-stakes matches shall unfold during this period. The victor’s crown, the esteemed title of PUBG Global Series 2 champion, awaits the team that claims the highest cumulative ranking.
Prize pool division and PGS Points allocation
The ultimate victors shall claim the lion’s share of the impressive prize pool, a staggering $600,000. The remaining rewards will be strategically allocated among teams according to their final placements.
Just like its predecessor, PUBG Global Series 1, the highest echelon of the tournament, the top 16 teams, shall amass valuable PGS Points commensurate with their rankings. A noteworthy development echoes from the prior series: the four leading teams that manage to amass the most substantial combined PGS Points from both PGS 1 and PGS 2 will etch their names into the year-end PUBG Global Championship 2023, securing prestigious spots in this highly anticipated event.
