Just as the dust was settling on SiGMA Americas, held earlier this year, the SiGMA Foundation, in a Brazilian collaboration with Centurion, delivered donations to the Lar Batista de Crianças, a Brazilian non-profit organization dedicated to providing care, support, and opportunities for children in vulnerable situations. The visit was to the Aclimação unit, located in São Paulo, where representatives from SiGMA and Centurion were warmly welcomed by Dona Nicinha,
The SiGMA Foundation and Centurion Brazilian collaboration resulted in the collection of 140kg of food, providing nutritious and sustainable meals for these children. In addition €14,000 was raised, providing additional financial support for the needs of Lar Batista de Crianças. Dona Nicinha also mentioned that, with the food needs being met by the collected food, this cash amount can be used for the children’s leisure, with new toys, cinema, and culture, developing creativity and improving quality of life.
Legacy and mission of Lar Batista de Crianças
Lar Batista de Crianças has a history of dedication and support for children in vulnerable situations. Founded in 1941, the institution has a long history of serving the community, with a mission to shelter, educate, and prepare children for a better future. The institution runs 21 shelters spread across various cities, each welcoming 15 children.
During the event, the visitors were able to witness firsthand the positive impact that these donations have on the lives of the children and the operation of Lar Batista de Crianças. The gratitude expressed by Dona Nicinha and her team is a testament to the power of solidarity and the importance of reaching out to those who need it most.
The SiGMA Foundation and Centurion are committed to continuing to support similar initiatives. Commenting during the event, Centurion founder Roberto Gallo said “We believe that together, we can create a more just and compassionate world for everyone, especially for the children who represent our future.”
