SiGMA partners with checkincognito for event visitor tracking

In the fight against COVID-19 tracking of visitors within any venues where they stay more than 15 minutes is critical.

Checkincognito has partnered with SIGMA to provide a visitor tracking system which offers a mechanism to track visitor activity using the visitors’ mobile phones.

SIGMA will use the system initially at SiGMA Europe and will roll it out not only at the event but also as part of the social events that surround SiGMA Europe.

Riverside StudiosHow does it work?

Checkincognito is a consumer-centric contact tracing solution with privacy at its heart, helping to protect personal data and control COVID-19. Visitors scan a QR code upon entry and visit data is kept centrally and only released to SIGMA, Track and Trace or local authorities in the event of potential COVID-19 exposure. Checkincognito also provides an easy registration screen where venues can register visitors manually, catering for customers who do not have a smartphone or who have a dead phone battery.

Checkincognito is also working with hundreds of UK pubs including the Turf Hotel in Exeter to keep track of customers.

Speaking on their experience with the app, Clive Redfern, proprietor of the Turf Hotel, said: “Checkincognito is very professional and speeds up the job no end. We love it and so do our customers!”

Adriaan Brink, CEO of Checkincognito, explained: “at Checkincognito, our mission is to protect the public’s anonymity except when data is needed in the event of exposure to COVID-19. This also provides venues with the ability to avoid possible GDPR abuse associated with keeping manual lists of visitors. We are pleased to be working with SIGMA and 100s of pubs across the UK providing a simple system that helps companies comply with government guidance.”

Eman Pulis, Founder of SIGMA, noted: “Checkincognito has given us a simple way to ensure we can keep track of visitors and give them peace of mind that their data is safe and secure. We were concerned about the GDPR issues that could arise when keeping lists of personal data, so are pleased to have found a seamless solution that helps provide us and our customers with confidence during such uncertain times.”

What are checkincognito’s features?

Checkincognito is a webapp which allows visitors to check-in upon entry to the building using a QR code, which is personalised to each venue. Visitors can manually register their details on a device upon entry if they don’t have a phone or their phone battery has died. Checkincognito then records the visit data which is shared with the venue when necessary due to COVID-19 exposure. Sensitive data is held centrally, reducing the risk of GDPR abuse at venues.

This easy to use system can be deployed at any type of venue. Checkincognito is free to use for individuals and non-profit venues such as places of worship, social clubs and government/local authority venues. Commercial use will be chargeable after a month’s free trial at a small monthly rate depending on the size of the venue.
