Vietnam: Vingroup to officially open its long-awaited $2.8bn Phu Quoc United Center on April 21st

Phu Quoc United Center will be the first sleepless IR in Vietnam, making Phu Quoc a ‘new international destination’ in Asia

Vietnam-based Vingroup Group announced its official launch of its Phu Quoc United Center on Phu Quoc island, Vietnam. The large-scale entertainment and leisure complex covers more than 1,000 hectares and including a number of attractions, some already in operation.

The venue located inside the resort, Corona Casino, which has been in operation since 2019 holds 1000 slot machines, close to 1000 electronic gaming machines and approximately 100 table games.

Vin GroupVingroup’s release states “This is also the only place in Vietnam where visitors can spend all night long at the first five-star casino open to Vietnamese people, with 1,000 slot machines and 100 game tables and integrated with a 600-seat theatre, the Corona Casino is comparable to famous casinos in the world.”

The IR also includes a number of hotel brands, such as Vinpearl, VinOasis, VinHoliday and Radisson Blue, and will have close to 10,000 rooms in total, Vietnam’s largest theme park, VinWonders Phu Quoc and a semi-wild conservation park, VinPearl Safari.

Phu Quoc United Center involves a total investment of more than US$2.8 billion and will be the first sleepless super complex in Vietnam, making Phu Quoc a ‘new international destination’ in Asia.

Inside the resort. Vingroup said “This is also the only place in Vietnam where visitors can spend all night-long at the first five-star casino open to Vietnamese people.”

Vingroup said “With an ecosystem of thousands of facilities and record entertainment items, Phu Quoc United Center not only satisfies the needs of enjoying – playing – resting – exploring for all visitors, but also providing unprecedented experiences in Vietnam.”

So far only two casino projects in Vietnam are allowed to cater economically-qualified locals under a pilot scheme run by the national government: Corona and the soon-to-open Van Don scheme, in Quang Ninh province, promoted by Vietnamese firm Sun Group.

According to local media reports in Vietnam, a recent proposed newcomer in Khanh Hoa province is a permit for a US$2.24-billion casino resort for Hon Tre islandpartly backed by local hospitality firm Vinpearl Co, which makes part of Vingroup Co.
