UPCOMING MISSIONS

The Women Empowerment Project, Bonga, Ethiopia

Looking ahead, the SiGMA Foundation has ambitious plans for the upcoming year. Building on the success of past initiatives, the Foundation aims to expand its reach and scale its impact in key areas.

In Ethiopia, the Foundation plans to further support the Women Empowerment Project, focusing on scaling educational programs and providing resources for vocational training.

Construction of a versatile multi-sensory hall, Bataan, The Philippines

Continuing its commitment to the Philippines, the Foundation will be inaugurating the mullti-sensory hall in Bataan under the auspices of Fr Joseph Cremona, MSSP, and will be looking to further invest in additional housing projects to address homelessness and improve living conditions for marginalized communities.

Construction of an additional wing at the Dreams of Horses therapy farm, Gozo, Malta

SIGMA Foundation is involved in the financing of the construction of an additional wing at the Dreams of Horses therapy farm in Gozo. This new space can serve as classrooms and dormitories as the plans for this farm are to expand and educate children with past traumas through interactions with animals. The farm also deals with PTSD victims, victims of domestic violence as well as folks that have a colourful past, to reintegrate them into society.

PAST MISSIONS

The G.L.O.W Campaign (2024)

The SiGMA Foundation’s G.L.O.W (Give Little Ones Wings) Campaign marked a significant milestone in our mission to support underprivileged children worldwide.

This mission focused on supporting children in Colombia with Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate conditions. As part of this mission, we brought about a joint physical challenge where we successfully led 25 souls through the challenging terrain of the Lost City Trail in Northern Colombia.

Through collective efforts and the generosity of our partners and challenge participants, we are funding 60 cleft lip and/or palate reconstructive surgeries, which will be ongoing for the year of 2024, ultimately transforming the lives of these children and giving them a newfound sense of confidence and hope. Our on-ground operations, in collaboration with Premium Care Kids, provided essential medical care and support to those in need.

3-in-1 School in Bonga, Ethiopia (2023)

In January 2023, the SiGMA Foundation made a momentous achievement, as we inaugurated a 3-in-1 school in Jimma Bonga, Ethiopia. The school includes a kindergarten, primary, and junior-secondary, and is providing a solid foundation in education to 1,000 students each year.

The building of the school was made possible by the funds raised from three separate iterations of Brown’s Camino de Santiago expeditions over the course of a year and a half, which enabled the SiGMA Foundation to raise €300,000.

Local Projects (2020)

In 2020, the SiGMA Foundation focused on local projects, including financing the construction of an additional wing at the Dreams of Horses therapy farm in Gozo, Malta. This expansion aimed to provide space for classrooms and dormitories to educate children with past traumas through horse therapy and interactions with animals.

Additionally, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Foundation addressed educational challenges through the Tech for Ed Malta campaign by relocating 50 laptops to children in need for online schooling. Furthermore, the Foundation collected EUR 20,000 worth of vouchers through the Sharing is Caring campaign to support local charities in Malta, benefiting the underprivileged during the pandemic.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND EXPEDITIONS

Camino de Santiago Challenges

The SiGMA Foundation completed five impactful Camino de Santiago Challenges between 2020 and 2023, raising funds for various philanthropic endeavors. These efforts included refurbishing a school in Bonga, Ethiopia, culminating in the inauguration of a new wing in January 2023.

In September 2023, the Foundation completed its fifth Camino de Santiago Challenge and is now preparing for the sixth in May 2024. This upcoming expedition aims to fund the construction of the Women Empowerment Project in Bonga, Ethiopia, continuing the Foundation’s commitment to education and community empowerment in the region.

Mount Toubkal Expeditions

In May 2023, the SiGMA Foundation achieved a milestone with its inaugural Mount Toubkal Expedition, led by CPO Keith Marshall. This challenging trek tested participants’ endurance while highlighting our commitment to active philanthropy.

Following the success of past mountain expeditions, including the “Kilimanjaro Challenge,” our team reached new heights by summiting Mount Toubkal, raising crucial funds for charitable causes. Looking ahead to 2024, preparations are underway for the second edition of the Mount Toubkal Expedition in May. This upcoming expedition offers another chance for our team to unite, push boundaries, and make a difference.

Proceeds from these expeditions support the Women Empowerment Institution, advancing our mission to uplift communities. We welcome individuals from all walks of life to join us on this transformative journey as we climb for a cause and strive for positive change.

Art Auctions at SiGMA Group’s Events

The Art Auctions at SiGMA Group’s Events serve as powerful fundraising platforms for the SiGMA Foundation. Attendees bid on selected artworks, with proceeds funding various Foundation projects. These proceeds go to supporting projects empowering individuals and communities through education and skills development.

The auctions, featured in each SiGMA Group summit, not only raises funds but also fosters community and solidarity within the industries targeted by the SiGMA Group, transcending art appreciation to support a greater cause.

Expedition Participants Fundraising Efforts

Participants of our expeditions go above and beyond to raise funds for our philanthropic initiatives through a variety of innovative methods. From organizing baked goods sales and fitness classes to hosting bingo nights and social events, our participants leverage their skills and networks to garner support for our cause. Additionally, many engage in physical challenges and reunions to rally support from friends, family, and colleagues. Furthermore, corporate donations play a significant role in bolstering our fundraising efforts, with businesses generously contributing to our cause.

Together, these diverse fundraising endeavors enable us to continue our mission of making a positive impact on communities worldwide.

We invite anyone from within the iGaming industry and beyond to join us on this journey. Whether you’re an experienced trekker or looking for a new challenge, your participation will play a vital role in supporting our mission of making a positive impact in the lives of those in need.

TESTIMONIALS

Robert Farrugia

I love what Keith Marshall and the SiGMA Foundation are doing with the underprivileged in Ethiopia and we felt it only befitting that Missio Malta would take a good step forward to assist with their efforts on the ground. Long may they continue.

Cardinal Berhaneyesus Demerew Souraphiel

The School in Jimma Bonga inaugurated last January by the SiGMA Foundation means education for 1,000 students annually. Education is the base for development and peaceful living, as well as fraternity and solidarity, and I thank all of the Maltese people who have been helping our poor through the SiGMA Foundation.

Bishop Markos Ghebremedhin

I’ve known Keith Marshall for about twenty years, and he has a very soft, generous heart. Through the Kilimanjaro Challenges and later the SiGMA Foundation, he has dramatically impacted the lives of 1000s of children, something our Vicariate will be eternally grateful for. We welcome with open arms anyone that is willing to contribute to the SiGMA Foundation and continue their good work among the poorest of our community.

Abba Samuel

The SiGMA Foundation has been our long-term partner and collaborator in terms of education. The groups of people they are bringing to support us in Jimma Bonga have impacted many things in the lives of our children. When you teach a generation, you are building the future, and the SiGMA Foundation has been crucial to us in this regard.

Abba Kifle

For us in Ethiopia and the Vicariate of Jimma Bonga, Malta is a very important island precisely because of people like those in the SiGMA Foundation. The Foundation fully understands that you must act now to build a better tomorrow. We are grateful for the dozens of generations that are going to benefit from the Foundation’s and Keith Marshall’s love and dedication to education.

Sister Lutgarda

The SiGMA Foundation is improving the way of living of many families in Ethiopia. They have provided us with new tools and resources to help our young learn new skills and create better lives for themselves and their families. We thank the SiGMA Foundation and pray for their continued success in their work, and I thank God for bringing such wonderful people into our lives. May God bless the SiGMA Foundation and all those who support their mission to help those in need.
