Betting frenzy as Oasis announce their comeback

The music world is abuzz now that the long-rumoured reunion of Oasis has been announce, igniting a burst of activity with betting agencies swiftly responding to the news. Fans and punters are placing bets on potential venues from the month of September, with Manchester, London, and even the famed Glastonbury Festival among the top contenders.

The possibility of Oasis reuniting has been a topic of speculation since their dramatic split in 2009, when Noel Gallagher famously declared he could “not go on working with Liam a day longer.” Now, 15 years later, excitement has reached a fever pitch.

The following are odds on potential venues and outcomes:

UK betting sites have wasted no time capitalizing on the excitement. The odds suggest a strong likelihood of Oasis performing at Manchester’s Heaton Park, with bookies offering odds of 1/4, equating to an 80 percent probability that the band will take the stage there before September 2025. This prediction aligns with the Gallagher brothers’ deep connection to their hometown, where they first rose to fame in the 1990s.

Glastonbury and beyond

To date, the announcement includes a series of venues scheduled up to 17 August.

July 2025

✅ 4th & 5th: Cardiff, Principality Stadium
✅ 11th, 12th, 19th & 20th: Manchester, Heaton Park
✅ 25th & 26th: London, Wembley Stadium

August 2025

✅ 2nd & 3rd: London, Wembley Stadium
✅ 8th & 9th: Edinburgh, Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium
✅ 16th & 17th: Dublin, Croke Park

Wembley Stadium in London is another strong contender, with odds set at 4/6, giving it a 60 percent chance of hosting the reunion. This iconic venue, renowned for hosting some of the biggest names in music, would provide a fitting stage for Oasis’s return. Additionally, the Etihad Stadium, home to Manchester City—Noel Gallagher’s favourite football team—is also in the running, with odds of 6/4, reflecting a 40 percent chance of being selected as a venue.

Perhaps the most intriguing possibility is that Oasis could headline Glastonbury Festival in 2025. Although the odds are slightly longer at 15/8, giving it a 34.8 percent probability, the prospect of Oasis returning to the Pyramid Stage has fans buzzing. Oasis previously headlined Glastonbury in 1994 and again in 2004, though their latter performance was marred by what many consider to be one of their weakest shows. Despite this, Glastonbury remains one of the most prestigious stages in the world, and a return would be a monumental event in the band’s history.

In addition to speculating on live performances, bookmakers are also offering odds on other potential outcomes of the reunion. There is a 14.3 percent chance, with odds of 6/1, that Oasis could secure the coveted Christmas Number One spot in 2024, an achievement that would add another milestone to their illustrious career. Furthermore, fans are eagerly hoping for new material, with the same odds suggesting that a new album might be released in 2025.

Adding fuel to the fire, Liam Gallagher recently headlined the Reading Festival and dedicated the song “Half The World Away” to his estranged brother Noel. This heartfelt moment was followed by a tantalising visual teaser, where the Oasis logo flashed on the screens, accompanied by the date and time of the upcoming announcement. A similar teaser played after the Manchester band Blossoms performed at Wythenshawe Park, further stoking excitement among fans.

Oasis, formed in Manchester in 1991, quickly rose to fame with their debut album Definitely Maybe. The band’s blend of rock anthems and introspective ballads, spearheaded by the Gallagher brothers, captured the spirit of a generation. Despite their success, internal tensions led to their eventual split, leaving fans yearning for a reunion.
