CasinoNieuws.nl launches, aims for No 1 spot in the Netherlands

Industry veteran Frank Op de Woerd launches CasinoNieuws.nl. The Dutch language website will cover the national and international gambling industry with information about casino games, casinos, and legislation. Special attention will go out to gaming in the Netherlands as the country prepares for a legalised market with an expected go-live date for online gambling of September 1st, 2021

CasinoNieuws.nl is an initiative of Frank Op de Woerd, backed by a consortium of experienced
gambling entrepreneurs. Op de Woerd, former Head of Content for the world’s biggest poker
website PokerNews.com, has 13 years of exposure to the world of casinos and is well-versed in all
casino games.

‘There’s no better time to launch a new website focused on the Dutch gambling industry,’ says Op de
Woerd. ‘With a new era for online gambling in Holland just a year away, I can’t wait to cover it every
step of the way!’

The new website, designed by Olivier Olivier Heida of De Designpraktijk and build by Pronamic, will
be open and honest about casino games and the dangers of (online) gambling. It will be upfront
on house-edges and bonus criteria and won’t promote irresponsible gaming in any way.

‘I’ve been to Vegas dozens of times, and I’ve visited casinos all over the world,’ says Op de Woerd. ‘I’ve
always greatly enjoyed my time in casinos and love the vibe the world of gambling holds. But I won’t
overly glorify it till the point of false advertising. For me, it’s crucial to be open and honest about all facets of gambling, as that’s the only way to run a news website, I feel. I aim to hold myself and CasinoNieuws.nl to the high standards set by traditional newspapers and news websites.’

CasinoNieuws.nl brings daily news as well as features and interviews. Amongst those to be featured on the website already during its soft-launch are gambling lawyer Justin Franssen, gaming consultant Willem van Oort, casino game inventor Marco Guldenaar, and high stakes poker players Govert Metaal and Teun Mulder. The latter won $2.5 million in a week of playing online poker and
choose CasinoNieuws.nl to break his silence for the first time.

Interviews with Dutch celebrities Fatima Moreira de Melo and Alberto Stegeman about their poker
and gambling life have already collected thousands of views. An upcoming interview with Björn
Fuchs of Fair Play Online promises to even top those numbers.

Op de Woerd holds big aspirations for his new website: ‘When the application process opens on
March 1st, 2021, I want CasinoNieuws.nl to be a household name for everyone in my country interested
in gambling. When the online market opens on September 1st, 2021, I want to be the number one on the market when it comes to gambling news in the Netherlands.’

In the legislation-section, CasinoNieuws.nl covers such essential topics as the exclusion registry
Cruks, the cooling down provision in the Dutch gambling law, and the requirements for future
licensee applicants.

The games section of CasinoNieuws.nl brings an extensive explanation of all the rules of the most
popular casino games, as well as bits about the games’ history and strategy. The poker section is
specifically noteworthy as it includes tips from theoretical physicist Marcel Vonk and world
championship of online poker winner Steven van Zadelhoff. CasinoNieuws.nl was welcomed by
state-owned Holland Casino for a two-day photoshoot to library of stock-quality photos of every
fine detail of their extensive gaming offer. Close-up and setting photos are featured throughout
the games section.

Before the launch of legal online gambling in the Netherlands, CasinoNieuws.nl won’t promote any
online casinos. When legal online gambling in the Netherlands is introduced, CasinoNieuws.nl will
solely search for partnerships with online casinos holding a valid license from the Dutch gambling
authority Kansspelautoriteit.
