The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) and Mastercard announced a strategic partnership that will elevate the gaming experience at this year’s Esports World Cup (EWC), the world’s largest gaming festival taking place in Riyadh this summer.

As an official partner, Mastercard will contribute to creating an inclusive and exciting atmosphere for attendees, with a focus on seamless digital payments and engaging activations. The partnership aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, emphasising the nation’s commitment to developing its digital economy and infrastructure.

“Mastercard’s sponsorship is a significant milestone for EWC, supporting our goals and harmonising with Saudi Vision 2030’s focus on diversity, inclusion, and digital innovation,” said Mohammed Al Nimer (pictured on the right), Sales Director of the Esports World Cup Foundation. “We look forward to welcoming a diverse audience of gamers, tech aficionados, and industry professionals to EWC, casting a bright spotlight on the Kingdom’s digital prowess and cultural vibrancy.”

Mastercard will bring its expertise in digital payments to the EWC, offering attendees convenient and secure transaction options. In addition, the company will host a dedicated booth in the Esports Arena featuring exciting activations, meet-and-greets with Saudi esports stars, and opportunities to win prizes.

“At Mastercard, we are committed to connecting people to their passions,” said Maria Medvedeva (pictured on the left), Country Manager, Saudi Arabia & Bahrain, Mastercard. “We look forward to further strengthening our long-standing partnership with EWCF to fuel the robust gaming ecosystem in the Kingdom. We look forward to welcoming people from all over the world to EWC.”

The Esports World Cup is scheduled to run until 25 August in Boulevard City, Riyadh. The event features 22 game championships with a record-breaking prize pool of over $60 million (approximately €55.2 million). Alongside the gaming competitions, there are various festival activities, including gaming activations, community tournaments, and live entertainment.
