MGA cancels AMGO iGaming Malta Ltd authorisation

In its latest enforcement action, the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has cancelled the authorization of AMGO iGaming Malta Ltd (C 92352). The decision, effective as of December 6, 2023, is in accordance with regulation 10 (1) (a) and involves the direct application of reg. 9 (1) (c), (d), (i), and (I) of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations (S.L. 583.06).

AMGO directed to notify players and remit outstanding balances

Following the regulatory move, AMGO iGaming Malta Ltd is now obligated to undertake several crucial actions:

Notification to Players: The Authorised Person must promptly notify all players affected by the cancellation of the Authorization. This notification, to be disseminated through the Authorised Person’s website/s and electronic mail, will include detailed instructions on how registered players can withdraw any funds held by AMGO iGaming Malta Ltd on their behalf.

Remittal of Outstanding Balances: AMGO iGaming Malta Ltd is further directed to provide necessary guidance and assistance to players concerning the procedures for the remittal of outstanding player balances. The company is obliged to process withdrawal requests within five (5) working days from the date a player initiates such a request. In cases where players fail to make a withdrawal request, the Authorised Person is mandated to remit all player funds to the credit of every player.

Compliance with Directives: Additionally, the company must adhere to the procedures outlined in the Gaming Authorisations and Compliance Directive (Directive 3 of 2018) regarding inactive and dormant accounts. This includes, but is not limited to, remitting outstanding balances to the Authority where applicable.

Resolution of Disputes: AMGO iGaming Malta Ltd must ensure the resolution of all pending player disputes, if any, in a timely and satisfactory manner.

This cancellation follows the first notice to AMGO issued by the MGA at the end of October 2023.
