NUSTAR: Cebu’s New Casino Resort to open in 2022

NUSTAR has already been given a provisional gaming licence by PAGCOR

In the Philippines, the NUSTAR Resort and Casino in Cebu – being developed by Philippines-based Universal Hotels and Resorts Inc. – has confirmed to GGRAsia that it plans to open its resort and casino complex in 2022.

The construction of the NUSTAR casino resort has already commenced and is being developed in a land reclamation zone in the South Road Properties.

According to the developer, the complex will feature “three hotel towers with more than 1,000 rooms, and will have the biggest gaming floor outside of Metro Manila,”.

“The property will house gaming floor with a total area of 21,000 square metres (226,042 sq feet), offering 250 tables and 1,500 electronic gaming machines”.

“NUSTAR will also feature four floors of retail and dining space, and facilities for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) that can accommodate 2,000 participants.”

Moreover, the developer has confirmed to GGRAsia, that the NUSTAR has “already been given the provisional gaming license” by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, or PAGCOR.

In line with this, PH Resorts Group Holdings Ltd’s Emerald Bay – the first integrated resort in the tourist island in Cebu – has pushed back its completion schedule for the first phase of the project to first quarter of 2022. Construction started for the property in December 2017 and initially planned to open its first phase this year.
