September NFL kick-off to launch Aristocrat’s NFL-themed slots

Aristocrat Gaming recently unveiled new NFL-themed slot machines. Punters will enjoy the new addition in tandem with the football season kick-off in September.

The introduction of the first slot machines with NFL themes offers a chance to interact with fans in a unique way. The slot machines will feature all 32 teams’ logos across the US and include customisable skins. Based on a player’s chosen team, the game will include specific imagery, key game moments and even stadium anthems.

Hailed as an industry changer, the multi-year agreement between the NFL and Aristocrat Gaming was first announced in 2021. One of the challenges was to create a gaming experience that catered for fans across the league, supporting any of the 32 teams, 40% of which support a team outside of the city where they reside.

In a company news release, Hector Fernandez, CEO of Aristocrat Americas and EMEA said, “Today, we are thrilled to debut the first look of the new NFL-licensed slot machines, which will provide an innovative entertainment experience for millions of NFL fans who enjoy the fun of casino gaming,” said Hector Fernandez, CEO of Aristocrat Gaming. “We are changing the game with this first-of-its-kind slot machine, offering fans the ability to customise the experience by selecting their favorite team in any casino they choose to play.” 

“The unveiling of the first NFL-themed slot machines represents an opportunity to bring the League closer to our fans in a new area,” said Joe Ruggiero, SVP of Consumer Products at the NFL. “We have valued collaborating with Aristocrat to bring their vision and responsible gaming resources to fans during the 2023 NFL season and beyond.”

Much has happened since the 2018 US Supreme Court decision which allowed states to adopt sports betting. Once fiercely opposed to legalised sports betting, the NFL (National Football League has since partnered with AGA (American Gaming Association). In 2021, the Washington Football Team was the first in the NFL to participate in AGA’s public service campaign to promote responsible sports betting. Despite the pledge to promote responsible gaming, the NFL has had trouble this season with players and other club personnel flouting its regulations about who is allowed to engage in sports betting as well as where and when it may occur.
