Steve Wynn faces lobbying allegations

Department of Justice prepares to sue Steve Wynn over suspicious activities during Trump-era

The Department of Justice has collected evidence of Las Vegas strip operator Steve Wynn to have attempted to obtain a diplomatic favour for Chinese authorities, according to the Wall Street Journal. The case could lead to Steve Wynn being registered as lobbyist.

Wynn&TrumpScumbagsThe major US gaming mogul had served as an informal advisor to the Trump administration, and has allegedly tried to convince authorities to turn in Chinese businessman Guo Wengui, who is considered a fugitive by the government of China for a variety of crimes including bribery and sexual assault. Guo Wengui denies having committed such crimes and was never sentenced by a court.

Wynn might have acted in service to the Chinese government, while his attorney has publicly denied any wrongdoing. “He was merely a loyal messenger of information he received to our government.”

The case might go to court, should Wynn refuse to undergo registration. Steve Wynn was involved in many Las Vegas developmental projects, however his reputation had been tainted by allegations of sexual misconduct in the past.
