Holland Casino closes its doors due to COVID-19

The new measures imposed by the Dutch government orders all public buildings to close, including Holland Casino

The Dutch government has announced new measures due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, which includes the closure of all public buildings.

As a result of these measures, state-owned casino “Holland Casino” will be affected and 14 of its venues will need to stay closed download (2)until November 18.

This is the second time Holland Casino will need to shut their doors, as they were previously closed from mid-March until July 1 during the first lockdown.

Hopefully, the second lockdown measurements will not be extended to a later date than stipulated as the land-based casino is struggling with turnover falling by 58.7%, 146.3million, for the first half of the year.

We continue to see the impact the pandemic is having on land-based operators. Would this suggest it’s time to start focusing solely on online gambling or do land based casinos still have a place/future in the situation we find ourselves in?
