ACR Poker community raises $20,000 for the United Breast Cancer Foundation

With the backing of its poker community, ACR Poker hosted its third annual online charity tournament on Wednesday, October 16th, in support of breast cancer awareness month. The US-themed online poker site and subsidiary of the Winning Poker Network successfully raised $20,000 for the United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF). The fundraising effort saw ACR Pros and poker players come together to raise funds for breast cancer patients and families affected by it.

The fundraiser featured two charity tournaments: one $15,000 guaranteed event at a $55 buy-in, which attracted 299 entrants and generated a pool prize of $14,950. The second tournament, a $16.50 buy-in, ran a $5,000 guarantee, engaging 339 entrants and finished with a total prize pool of $5,085. Hosted by ACR pros, the fundraising efforts secured 638 participants to it. These funds are expected to support UBCF’s Individual grant program, which helps cover medical, insurance and housing expenses for affected breast cancer patients.

ACR Pros Katie Lindsay, Ebony Kenney, and ACR Team Online member Svitlana ‘Svetarik’ Dryha were the event hosts this year. Their live streaming included promotional giveaways for viewers and sharing firsthand looks at the gameplay. Insights into their experiences and highlighting the importance of breast cancer support were also featured. Giveaways were an inviting part of the livestream lineup, where 30 viewers won $66 tickets to ACR Poker’s $1 million GTD Venom Warmup.

ACR Pro Katie Lindsay commented on the event saying “I’m so excited to once again raise money for such an incredible foundation. UBCF provides so much support and healing opportunities for people battling against cancer and I’m so grateful to everyone for being part of raising money for such an important cause”

Speaking on the fundraising event, UBCF Executive Director Stephanie Mastroianni shared “We are so thankful to ACR Poker and its players for their generous donation, which will help support individuals and families affected by breast cancer.

“These funds will benefit our most sought-after program, the Individual Grant Program, providing customised support and assisting with a wide range of expenses, from medical bills and procedures to housing bills and insurance coverage.”
