Philippine bingo surges despite POGO restrictions

Digital gaming company DigiPlus Interactive Corp. has clarified that its operations will continue unaffected by the recent ban on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

In a statement released on 23 July, DigiPlus President Andy Tsui stated that the company is not a POGO and operates under different licences covering traditional bingo, electronic bingo, electronic gaming services, sports betting, speciality games, and poker.

Unlike POGOs, which operate exclusively online, DigiPlus has a physical presence in the Philippines and adheres to local gaming regulations. The company operates over 140 physical sites nationwide, supporting its 24/7 online bingo streaming platform, BingoPlus.

Tsui assured players and stakeholders that DigiPlus’ popular platforms, including BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, Colour Game, BingoPlus Poker, and TongitsPlus, will continue to operate without interruption.

The company is optimistic about its growth prospects, projecting a 10-20 percent increase in revenue this year due to an expanding player base. DigiPlus aims to attract an additional 5-10 million registered users through the launch of new games and diversification into digital content.

To support its growth, the company has allocated P1.5 billion (approximately €23.6 million) to P2 billion (approximately €31.5 million) for capital expenditures, focusing on technology and game development. DigiPlus is also exploring adding digital content, such as movies and sports news, to its platform.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the POGO ban and its potential impact on the Philippine economy, DigiPlus remains confident in its ability to thrive in the local gaming market.

BingoPlus on the rise

This month online bingo platform BingoPlus reported that it has seen a surge in Filipino players, with parent company DigiPlus Interactive Corp. expecting a 10-20 percent revenue boost this year. The company aims to add millions of new users and expand into digital content.
