The task force police had received a tip-off regarding the illegal activities and apprehended eleven people, all belonging to different parts Luxettipet and Dandepalli mandals.

Another of the many incidents took place in September where the Ramagundam Commissionerate Task Force arrested 10 persons including eight traders on the charges of gambling in the Market area. The police seized Rs 52,320 from them. The apprehended included traders from different parts of the town, a coal miner and a retired Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) employee. The SCCL is a government coal mining company jointly owned by the government of Telangana and India.

The recent incident comes amid a deterioration in law and order in Mancherial district headquarters in the last few months. The district has observed unprecedented clashes between groups in different parts at regular intervals.

The district, over the last few months, has been witnessing conflicts between some gangs and individuals over petty issues, property disputes, clashes over love affairs, brutal recovery of loans and brawls out of previous enmity during religious affairs and processions of idols at night.
