Entain appoints Helen Ashton as Non-Executive Director

Entain PLC has appointed Helen Ashton as an Independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. 

Barry Gibson, Charman of Entain, said “On behalf of the board, I am delighted to welcome Helen to Entain. Helen brings a wealth of retail, digital, financial and board experience. As part of the continued strengthening of the Entain Board, I am confident that Helen will further enhance the board’s ability to support and oversee the delivery of our strategy.”

Entain PLC views this appointment as a strategic step to strengthen its board with diverse and comprehensive expertise. As a global frontrunner in sports betting and gaming, the company expresses confidence in Ashton’s potential to contribute to ongoing growth and success in the sector.

Ashton will take on her new position at Entain, while concurrently serving as a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee at JD Sports Fashion plc. In addition, she will become a member of the Audit Committee, lending her vast experience and proficiency to the board of directors at Entain PLC.

Ashton’s professional journey spans over three decades, during which she gained a wealth of experience from both public and private financial industries. Her distinguished credentials include being a qualified Chartered Management Accountant. She has also served as the Chief Financial Officer of ASOS plc and held executive roles at renowned organisations such as ASDA, Barclays, and Lloyds Banking Group, equipping her with a deep understanding of global business and financial services, particularly within the dynamic landscapes of high-growth digital and retail sectors.
