SiGMA Group throws full weight behind its return to Malta Week
Substantially increasing the size of the renowned Malta Week show, SiGMA Group has taken this year’s expo to a whole new level.
Over 25,000 delegates have registered and have flocked from all over the world for this week showing the intrinsic potential that SiGMA holds for the island of Malta.
These three days have been jam-packed with the most enlightening panels and keynotes, networking events, and an ever-growing industry-setting expo floor. With the event coming to a celebratory close, Eman Pulis SiGMA Group Founder states, “never in my wildest dreams would I have foreseen that SiGMA in 2014 would become the international show that it is today.”

Streamers:
The Steamers Gala event brought together the streaming community shining a spotlight on top talent in the digital space and celebrating the growth of this nascent industry. The goal of this evening’s inaugural Streamers Awards presentation was to honour the finest that live streaming services have to offer as they continue to gain popularity and transform how people watch entertainment. Top streamers including Mr-Gamble, Haddzy, Doddy, Bonkku, Big Daddy, MaximZockt, Juicyspins, and others were among our top VIP guest list.
LCB:
The excitement at Sky Club was at an all-time high as Malta Week delegates gathered for a festive night at the LCB Awards. LCB Awards was conceived by the LCB team as their signature event to recognize and celebrate exemplary service and achievements in the industry. Furthermore, the event aimed to promote transparency and responsible gaming in the community, reaching across the globe to all active markets.
SiGMA:
From surprise wins to spirited bidding in a first for the fundraising Auction, SiGMA Awards raised a record-breaking 91k for charity. SiGMA’s highly anticipated gala awards evening, which was generously supported by Creedroomz, and hosted by Jon Thompson and Elisa Martinotti, saw luminaries from the gaming, emerging tech, and affiliation industries crowned in a celebration of their contributions to the sector.
AGS:
The AGS Awards night saw 15 awards handed out in recognition of new technologies and tools, great advertising platforms and media agencies, as well as affiliate networks and programs. Rounding off the evening was a performance from the Luxarcarna dancers and a charitable auction – the proceeds of which were diverted to the SiGMA Foundation.
Start-up winner Surfer Penguin takes home the Pitch Trophy
Surfer Penguin has been crowned the 2022 champions at SiGMA/AGS PitchCompetition held at MFCC. Showing his deepest gratitude towards SiGMA for this opportunity, Pablo Fernandez, CEO & Co-Founder of the company told our News team that he’s really grateful for this opportunity and looks forward to expanding on his idea further.
Stellar display of MMA prowess by Centurion fight
Centurion-FC, in collaboration with SiGMA Group, has put up yet another stellar display of MMA prowess. Joining the festivities at Malta Week, a lot of work and organization was put forward to make the night a success. From the spectacle of fighters being carried to the cage by Roman Centurion Soldiers to raw strength and emotion expressed in the ring, Centurion FC showcased all facets of this great sport as part of the event. This evening saw many prominent athletes of the European scene putting up a great show and exciting the audience present.
Ministers and government entities
Government entities, Ministers as well as the Prime Minister of Malta himself paid a visit to SiGMA Europe throughout the week. Prime Minister Robert Abela addressed the delegates saying “events such as SiGMA celebrate the spirit of Malta’s economic vision and Malta’s entrepreneurial drive. Eman and his team are living proof of this and I commend their can-do attitude. By working together we will be able to ensure more successful years of this already thriving gaming industry.”
Roberto Carlos
The event at MFCC also featured Roberto Carlos, the brand ambassador for Bet winner. The Real Madrid player and Brazilian team world champion was a key player at the massive event in Malta. He was pleased to take part in the event signing hundreds of autographs at the bookmaker’s booth.
300+ Spartans
The 300+ Spartan Affiliates official program also took place during the days of the summit. With the perfect place to know and be known, our elite core of Spartans had the time of their lives and was in the ultimate place to grow their network under the Mediterranean sun of Malta Week 2022.
Buzzing Expo Floor
The expo floor offered a carefully curated display of products and solutions leading the market. Delegates had a chance to target the industry on a global scale and zone in on a niche area of the sector, this high energy exposition offered a direct line to some of the top brands in the business – making it an ideal place for networking and brand exposure.
Conferences
SiGMA Conferences have drawn policymakers, influencers, thought-leaders, and C-Suite executives from the gaming and affiliation space across the globe and connected them to our audience.
Giving a keynote address, Ian Smith, head of the eSports Integrity Commission, outlined some of the key concerns, saying that the “market potential is huge, but there is a considerable amount of danger. It’s like FIFA deciding to make the goal wider, or the pitch narrower just ahead of the World Cup,” he said.
In his speech, Prime Minister Hon. Robert Abela stressed the government’s commitment to bolster Malta’s gaming sector even further, saying it remains a top priority for the government. “This is an industry which we are very very proud of. Malta is the home of choice for over 300 gaming firms providing over 10,000 gaming-related opportunities for jobs. Many of the companies are listed on the major stock exchanges boasting a superior level of governance” says Abela.
Speaking on a panel on the first day of SiGMA Europe, CEO of MGA Carl Brincat said that the regulator had learned that before taking steps to innovate, it had to make sure the groundwork had been done.
In a keynote speech, Finance Minister Javier Fransisco Antonio Silvania said his presence at the conference signals Curaçao’s commitment to ensure it is an “important player in the online gaming industry. Silvania is overseeing a major revamp of the Dutch-Caribbean island’s gaming industry to ensure proper regulation and supervision. The new regulations are expected to take effect from 2Q23.
