Swiss regulator blacklists 41 new online gambling domains

Swiss gambling regulators Eidgenössische Spielbankenkommission (ESBK) and the Inter-Cantonal Lotteries and Betting Commission (Comlot) have persecuted 41 domains; building their blacklist of unlicensed online gaming operators

web blockESBK has blacklisted 31 new domains, including but not limited to, Casinoin.io, Megaslot and Wildblaster.com and Cleopatracasino.com.

Comlot has backlisted 13 new additions which include Bettilt.com, Bahigo42.com and Betmaster.io who also made appearances on ESBK’s list. Others include Slottica.com, Cbet.gg, Lottery.com and Olimpwin.com.

The two regulators published their first backlists of igaming operators back in September 2019; an initiative that started in accordance with the countries Federal Act on Real-Money Gaming (Geldspielgestez). This allows Swiss-land based casinos to hold online casino game offerings.

SwitzerlandUnder Article 86 of the Geldspielgestez, Comlot and ESBK were given the responsibility of ensuring internet service providers block access to platforms for unlicensed domains.

Currently, the number of websites blocked by the regulator has gone beyond 180 domains.

Originally, while the move wasn’t welcomed by some who labelled it censorship, the public reaction was generally warm, arguing that it would act as a catalyst for the act.
