Pay and Play – online payments under the spotlight
Neosurf brings a wealth of experience in online payments through pay and play. In this interview, Andrea McGeachin, Chief Commercial Officer of the brand, sits down with Maria Debrincat to share some of the company’s projects and ideas with SiGMA Magazine
Why are casinos looking at Neosurf as a payment method of acceptance?
Neosurf is a local payment method that delivers high conversions from the cashier pages while still ensuring that the fees we charge are not inappropriately high. It’s not just casinos that are looking at Neosurf as a payment method of acceptance, so are sportsbooks, Bingo and Poker sites, and others. Our merchants come to us because the online gambling industry wants local payments that can consistently support them.
What can you attribute your successful customer onboarding and retention figures to?
We work really hard to present a very supportive team in our onboarding. We deliver >96% satisfaction score continually. We released this last year and are committed to the training of our team when it comes to extending knowledge and tools to ensure fast, professional, and engaging support at all times.
How is Neosurf different from other payment methods?
It’s our attitude. Every member of the team values our merchants’ business and their players. We want to be supportive and do our best to commit to improvements in the user journey, conversions, and local country reach – we’re also adding over 8 new countries this year. We care and we deliver based on that care. We have to be technically efficient and deliver according to regulatory requirements – that’s a basic principle. But we go the extra mile, we are a payments company with a personality, a personality that is smart, caring for the merchant and its players, and additionally a personality that is here when needed.
What’s your take on the area of cash payments, especially given the fact that cashless is on the rise?
We do see a rise in card payments online and to our wallet of course. Our Voucher business worldwide is still growing and in countries where cards play a significant role. There is more cash in circulation today than 5 years ago. Our job is to ensure cash is legally managed and traceable with our vouchers and we are good at that.
Is there a plan in place to support expansion?
Yes indeed, sadly last year and not due to Covid we lost our dear friend and Colleague Martin Prout, he drove our expansion strategy country wise, we have now appointed Antoine Metivier to continue that hard work. We have many new countries coming in the Baltics, LATAM, extra access in Europe and North America and we hope to give news on the USA very soon. Product-wise we are making things very simple for the players whilst making sure regulatory needs are covered. We are enhancing our App and our user journey all the time with player user experience at the heart of conversions from the >90 countries we are delivering this year. On top of all that we are strategically working with other local payments to ensure our mutual merchants’ simplicity and fair pricing. We did this with our regulated work in Africa with wallets enabling the purchase of Neosurf as a source to spend on our integrated merchants. Neosurf is connected to >70 e-wallets in 38 African countries. We are extending this to other countries where players have many, many multiple payment favourites using our user journey experience and conversion benefits to enhance the merchants’ ability to accept more local players with their choices and less process and resource. We have also enhanced the data science aspect of our business modeling. Sharing data appropriately with merchants helps us all make positive decisions for mutual growth.
