CDNetworks expands its global scrubbing centre network

CDNetworks, a leading network in the Asia-Pacific region that delivers edge as a service, has proudly announced its swift expansion of the global network of scrubbing centers. This strategic move aims to bolster availability, fortify resiliency, and secure the digital experience for organizations. With a capacity surpassing 15 Tbps and offering sub-second scrubbing services, this expansion is optimally designed to help organizations navigate the escalating severity of DDoS attacks and intricate compliance issues.

The latest State of Web Application and API Protection Report from CDNetworks reveals a significant surge in the frequency of DDoS attacks, with TB-level attacks becoming increasingly prevalent. The report also underscores a shift in the diversity of attack methods used, suggesting that organizations need to implement unprecedented measures and heighten their focus on DDoS protection. Moreover, the growing focus on compliance with international regulatory standards is influencing the cybersecurity strategies of companies globally. These regulatory requirements make the adoption of localized scrubbing centers imperative, thereby becoming a crucial element of a robust cybersecurity stance. In this scenario, the localization of an extensive scrubbing center network becomes even more critical in reducing the risk of a DDoS attack.

Doyle Deng, Head of Global Marketing and Product at CDNetworks, stated, “As DDoS attack methods undergo significant changes, the role of local scrubbing centers will become increasingly prominent. These centers will serve as a vital shield for a growing number of low-latency services, ensuring a safe and secure experience for end-users. Simultaneously, local scrubbing centers will enable organizations to handle malicious traffic without allowing data to exit its country of origin.”

Doyle further elaborated, “We are currently expanding our local scrubbing centers in South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, South America, and other regions. This continuous expansion will strengthen our sub-second-level scrubbing services, aiding in the delivery of unmatched world-class security without affecting latencies and end-user experiences.”

In 2023, CDNetworks established scrubbing centers in Surabaya, Indonesia; Cebu City and Manila, Philippines; Singapore; Bangkok, Thailand; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Paris, France; and Montreal, Canada. With the official inauguration of the Montreal scrubbing center at the end of the previous year, CDNetworks now boasts more than 20 scrubbing centers worldwide. These strategic expansions will augment CDNetworks’ capability to assist businesses globally in quickly and effectively mitigating diverse DDoS attacks.

Since 2021, CDNetworks has significantly ramped up its investment in cloud security, launching several cloud security products, including its WAAP solution. This commitment to advancing cloud security technology has positioned CDNetworks at the forefront of defending against sophisticated cyber threats. Over the years, CDNetworks has successfully aided organizations in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI), iGaming, Software Information Services, and other industries in withstanding repeated large-scale DDoS attacks, earning consistent praise and recognition in the industry.
